Successful Work Day!!!

I have heard from many of our members that the work day was a great success. Group efforts are wonderful but there are so many individual tasks to be done! Anyone wanting to give 15 minutes to an hour, just let us know! All help is greatly appreciated.

I have attached Rodney's report, please contact him if you would like to help in anyway with this wonderful community gift!

Rodney's Report

"The Shelby County Master Gardeners had 19 members and friends clean up the Tim McClure Botanical Garden at the Family Activity Center at Clear Creek Park. The Botanical Garden is the major year around project that the Master Gardeners develop and maintain. The Master Gardeners are a non profit group, who needs the support of the community with this project. The Shelby County Cooperative Extension Service sponsors the Master Gardeners program."

WORK and FUN DAY SEPTEMBER 24TH

Please mark your calendars, gather up your friends and garden tools and come out to the Arboretum on Saturday September 24Th. We are all joining in to help"put our gardens to bed". We have a variety of task to be accomplished in each of the gardens so if you don't like to weed...have no fear, we have other tasks!! We will be digging plants, bushes etc..so there will be plenty of plant freebies. There will be an early Soup and Sandwich Lunch provided.

If you have not been out to the gardens for a while, please come out and see how far we have come! The work begins at 8:30am.

Hope to see you there!!

A "tea" rrific Work Day

Thanks so very much to Carol Ison and Iris Brown for hosting a Garden Tea and Work Day out at the Arboretum on Thursday September 1st. Ten Members worked hard,as you can tell by the truck load of weeds hauled away, and then were rewarded for their efforts with wonderful food!

Wonderful event we all love...mixing work and play!!
